I wish everyone around the world could pause at the same time and write a wish – on paper, in the sand, in the air, on their hand. World peace in a nanosecond. Wish.
Join me – virtually – Saturday March 11 – 10:30 am – 4:30 pm Pacific time – for another glorious WriteAway – wild abandon of the mind and pen.

Winter afternoon – Eagle’s perch my front row seat – Waxes now the moon

Walked to the beach sundown before me and moonup behind and spied an eensy Winter Wren and followed it along the beach till it disappeared into its nook wherever that may be. Such a tiny bird. Three and a half inches from beak to tail tip. So sweet. Haven’t seen one for a long time. When I was ten I spent the summer drawing birds in our backyard as identified from a Peterson’s Guide that my Great Auntie Ruth – a seasoned birder – had given me. Compiled quite a collection. I remember drawing a Wren, getting into the detailed patterning of its wing, but now I see it was a House Wren with a tail twice the length of Winter’s.
