About
My name is Pierr (“peer”) – I’m a painter who writes and illustrates children’s books. I live in Washington state, recently moving from Puget Sound on its west coast to the desert of the east, with a walking lifestyle now among Ponderosa pines and maples in four definite seasons.
Originally I created WOW – Wild Observations Walking – to get me outside on a daily walk to observe something with my Canon Power Shot SX120 IS and share it with you. The daily thing lasted a good year. Now this weekly keeps me plenty busy. I hope you’ll have a look at previous posts, maybe be inspired by one in some way.
Please let me know if you wish to use any images. Thanks for stopping by!

The beach and cloud and water photo is gorgeous. It does look like fabric … and the piping, as you mentioned, nice finishing touch.
The “other dimension” I’m sure must have been the footprint of a happy happy person, humming a song while walking in the hard sand (those look like musical notes to me), and dreaming of apple pie … omg, then s/he spotted the green apple peeking out and smiled anew, knowing for sure what activity would ensue upon the return home.
I can tell you’re having fun with this … another play station for you now! Rah-rah!

Way great! A wonderful idea. Love ya, Grace
I think the “Conventioneers” will return to the same place year after year because the food at Gerhard’s Diner is so delicious and so close! Linda
Aha! So it’s not the view?
Pierr, my favorite picture of the day…..the steps on the bluff. I want to run up the steps to see what wonderful surprises lie beyond! Linda
You describe the feeling perfectly. Thanks, Linda!

I hope you enjoy! 🙂 🙂
HolyCOW, thanks Andy! I’m a little late responding here, but finally ‘came out’ on my post this morning. You’ve been so faithful and supportive of my blog. Just want you to know how much I appreciate and am honored by your description – “journey of discovery.” Thank you.
Perr, I think everyone needs a change of scenery, a change of place so to speak, to keep the creative juices flowing. You will be missed here on beautiful Whidbey Island, but it will make your return sojourns that much more meaningful and enjoyable. Good luck in selling your nest. Linda Matz
Thanks, Linda! Very sweet.
Thanks for sharing; really enjoyed it!
My pleasure! Thanks for stopping by to look, Georgia.
I am happy to have come across your blog. Very cool stuff here and I am also a lover of WA. I used to live Seattle 🙂 Anyhow I am looking forward to exploring some more of your past posts! Keep up the good work!
Wow – thanks, Rob. I was born and raised in Seattle. Haven’t strayed too far away all these years.
Oh that’s awesome! I hope to move back to WA one of these days. It’s too dang cold in Calgary! haha
I’ve never been to Calgary. But then, I don’t ride horses. (tee-hee)
Beautiful, heavenly, scenic place where you live. Thanks for visiting me and liking my post. I am going to browse your posts right now. Take care and have a lovely week.
Thank you, Samina, this is a heavenly place for sure. I’m very lucky.
I like the idea of going out and taking a picture every day. I may have to try that, I’m in need of pictures to go with my blog posts. I live in Longview, Washington and we’ve got some beautiful stuff around here, too. Incidentally, I got an email from a writer today who lives in Portland, OR. Small world.
Great Blog site! It’s refreshing. So’s your writing. 🙂
It is a small world. I’ve been to Longview many times in my other life (’80’s & ’90’s). Beautiful parks…Lake Sacajawea oh yeah, and the Columbia’s pretty gorgeous too. Thanks very much for your compliments and for following! I appreciate it. Keep writing! And good luck with the photos.
Pierr – so happy to have found you! I’m Patti, a good friend of Tam’s. We met a couple of times at her house on Whidby. I was looking through posts on creativity and found you and your great posts and art. Fantasitic!
Hi Patti! Of course I remember you. How fun to meet you in cyberworld too. Wonderful blog of yours. Inspirational. Thank you for finding mine and spending time looking…and leaving such praises!
Hi Pierr! I love reading “Abouts”! I used to have a Canon Sure Shot. I now have a Lumix which fits in my pocket. Otherwise, I wouldn’t take photos which is my favorite thing to do. Well, and being artsy fartsy in other ways too. Thank you for looking in on my blog and subscribing. I am off to visit your special space. Cheers, Margie
Hi Margie! Thanks for reading about me. My Sure Shot fits in a pocket, but it’s a little bulky, true. Thanks for the Lumix tip. I’ll check it out. I like to zoom up close on the birds. The photos on your blog are gorgeous!
Τhank you for your time visit my blog and follow.
