I also have a Singer sewing machine from the early 1950s. It looks very similar to the one in the photo, except it’s a full-sized one embedded in a wooden table. It’s the best. For awhile, I had a newer sewing machine–but I didn’t like it; and gravitated back to using this vintage one that once was my mother’s.
I agree totally. All metal parts, a motor that won’t quit and it’s beautiful to look at. How wonderful to be using your mother’s. I’ll bet they’ll easily make it to 100…even if we don’t…but here’s to thirty-five more years of stitching, anyway. Thanks, Sheryl.
