You were able to get really close! I always wonder how people do that – A.
Hi A. Actually I have a 10X Zoom lens on my camera. It’s a Canon PowerShot SX120 IS. Bought it about 4 years ago? The deer around these parts are also very bold. There aren’t animal predators around and no hunting allowed within the city limits, so they live in peace. I happened to be in my car at the ferry terminal waiting in line to pay at the toll booth, just 100 feet or so from the beach where they romped. Lucky timing!
Oh wow! Amazing!!
You were definitely in the right place at the right time! Very cool 🙂
I know! It was a wonderful surprise. And for once my camera was right there on the passenger seat, ready.
Thank you, DA.
So cool! I have NEVER seen deer on the beach before…and I’ve lived here for, ah, 34 years. Amazing.
Then I’m totally spoiled because the deer in Port Townsend have this morning route that takes them along the waterfront. I haven’t lived there since ’95, but seems they’re creatures of habit. The city even put up a brown “nature preserve” sign with binocular logo at the crosswalk there in honor of it.
Wow. I’ll have to ask Sheila (Bender) if she sees them, too. You know her, I’m pretty sure; she’s lived in PT since the mid-90s, or at least had a house there since then. Hope your wild writing month is going well!
Yes! Poet extraordinaire and your Writing With the Top Down Cadillac partner. Thanks for the wild writing cheer. I’m having a blast filling in plot holes. I seem to think (or not think :o) better when I’m wilding with a pen toward some grand timeline. Cheers to you and your wild Farmlet Folk. – Pierr
Plot holes! LOL 🙂
Beautiful pictures! My grandfather was telling me how he got a couple of pictures of deer in his backyard. It’s not often we see them around where we live.
Thanks, Kris. Yeah, I’m lucky. The Northwest is teaming with critters large and small, especially those that adapt well to people populating their turf.
Beautiful photos. So….just curious…. do these 4000 words count toward your NaNo total? 😀
Hahaaa! Well, I have to admit it was/is tempting, but I was joking too. I’m at 10,108 words this minute (not counting the deer). Haven’t started in on today’s quota, but the day is still young. Thanks for your cheer, Amy. – Pierr
Heh, I know how tempting that is! Good on ya for the 10k words – you are making good progress! Woot woot!
