Taking It Back

October 5, 2011 § 2 Comments

More than a spot – Mother Nature has a way of reclaiming things we try to contain. Like this road that connects a whole mess of homes to civilization. When I moved here ten years ago the high point of the far side was a straight level line to the guard rail. Every so often the county brings its trucks to fill and smooth the deep fissures where geology has broken it like bread and swept it down toward the beach. And the cat? Sometimes they just get tired of us, I think. Somewhere I heard that cats don’t speak to each other in voice. Their meows and mews are specific commands used only for humans.
