Sea-Based X-band Radar Sensor On its Way Again

August 20, 2011 § Leave a comment

Back in May this Sea-based  X-band (SBX) Radar Sensor was towed into Seattle from the Strait of Juan de Fuca for repairs. My neighbor, Lisa Root, got a nice photo of it coming past our homes along Admiralty Inlet during the day.

Tonight, heading north to the Strait again, it looks like it’s all fixed up ready for another stint at sea, maybe a party on the way. Wild to think of people living on this vessel. The same kind of wild I’d imagine it would be living in space.
