American Goldfinch

Unmistakeable voice.  Aria for the soul. The first I’ve heard this spring.  Welcome back!

Go to allaboutbirds.org and click on the “sound” folder, then click on “song” to hear what I mean.

Technically it’s not supposed to count if you’re actually looking for it.  So I didn’t find any in this batch anyhow.  But just when I gave up and walked on – look!

Bunny? Robin? Cosmic?

Go Fish!

April 22, 2011 § 2 Comments

Some days have a theme. Mine started out with a magazine collage where I pasted down a tiny photo of a fish mosaic. In fact it was the piece I spent the most time placing, just so, for some reason I don’t know. I love making collages for that reason. It’s okay not to know anything. You simply cut out images that catch your eye, arrange them in a way that pleases you, and paste ’em down. Done.

Then I went into the studio and created a couple small fish paintings for the “Almost Perfect Sale” coming up on Bainbridge Island at the Gallery at Bainbridge Arts and Crafts there next weekend (April 29, 30 and May 1). FUN.

Then I went for a beach walk. Holy cow! Er, fish!

And then I saw this one which is not to be believed but there it is, eyeball and all – a concretion copy of Aztec art.
