Small Aircraft

Bald Eagles

Of course I missed the shot where they were flying in over my yard wing to wing and scooping the air up to perch in their favorite Dougie Fir. And maybe someone from Alaska wouldn’t get so excited about seeing a pair in their yard, seeing as Eagles are about as common as Crows up north, but I do. Unfortunately I had my camera on the quick F-stop that’s best for lots of action in the sunlight. Today – as you can see – it’s gray. And there just isn’t a good way to show how huge these birds really are, unless you imagine the diameter of the widest tree trunk there to be about two feet, maybe more. Commanding presence comes to mind. Majestic for sure.
